What is bath junkie?
bath junkie is a retail store where we are able to create over 60 products ranging from bath and body, cleaning, and pet products, tailored to the customer’s preferences. Choose from over 190 different scents; combine them to find the perfect one just for you. Add your favorite color and you have a unique one of a kind product.
What are enrichment programs?
Enrichment programs combine the concept of creating custom products with science, environment and business. A hands-on learning experience in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
How do I book a program?
If you belong to a home schooling community and would like to schedule an event, please contact the store at 508-695-2285 or firstname.lastname@example.org. There is a minimum of 6 attendees required to book a program. Programs run during regular store hours.
Starting in September 2015 we will be offering classes throughout the school year that you will be able to call and register your children to attend. If you’d like to be added to our email list for the class schedule, please email us your contact information at email@example.com.
How much does it cost?
Every program is $20 per participant and each person will go home with a custom product based on their workshop.
Household Elf: 60 minute program
Recommended age group: 6-14
Each participant will custom make our most unique cleaning product, clean freak, a natural product great for cleaning the entire house. This is followed up with a 30 minute discussion and brainstorming activity which addresses how to help save water and energy at home and what and how we should be recycling to keep our planet clean. Participants will put together a personal poster board outlining steps they will take to help our environment based on what was learned in class.
Product Designer: 90 minute workshop
Recommended age group: 10-14
bath junkie is the perfect place to design a product as it is our entire concept. This session takes our concept one step further. The group will create a new product from our existing options, creating something completely unique. They will be led step by step through the design process. Once the product has been developed, they will each make one to bring home. Who knows? We may end up carrying it in the store!
Home Scientist: 60 minute workshop
Recommended age group: 6-10
Each participant will experiment with different bases and learn how different oils absorb color; experiment by adding water to different ingredients to see the reactions; watch how mixing changes the constancy and properties of the final product. They will then each make a 4oz sparkle splash (hydrating body mist) to take home. They will custom create their own scent combination by experimenting with different scented oils until they find their perfect combination.
Entrepreneur: 90 minute workshop
Recommended age group: 10-16
Ever thought about owning your own business? Then this workshop is for you! In this workshop, the participants will make a 6oz product of their choice, and then develop a marketing plan using tools and resources learned in class. We’ll discuss owning and operating a business, as well as an introduction to budgets. Great workshop with lots of discussion and eye opening examples of small businesses.
Public Speaking: 90 minute workshop
Recommended age group: 10-16
Everyone at some point needs to give a speech in front of a group. Looking for pointers and helpful tricks to be better prepared? Check out this workshop! Each participants will create a 6oz product of their choice, and then work as a group to discuss what preparing and presenting a good speech looks and sounds like. Each participant will present a 1 minute presentation on the features and benefits of the product.
About your instructor:
Kim, the owner of bath junkie, is a graduate of Bentley College with a degree in marketing. She spent 15 years in hotel management. She was instrumental in developing a hotel franchise company from the ground up, growing from 1 hotel to 20 by the time she retired as VP of Sales and Marketing. Kim created and implemented a vast training program for the company centered around associates and customers. In October 2012, she ventured in a new direction, opening up bath junkie and establishing her self as a business owner. She is excited to put her training and marketing talents to use in this exciting and unique program.
