Benefits of Shea Butter and Essential Oils in Your Face Cream
Hello fellow bath junkies! It’s been quite awhile since we’ve blogged about our amazing products and programs so we’re back at it and will be posting 2 blogs each week so please come back to see what we’re up to and share with your fiends!
I want to talk today about our primrose face cream, how I use it and why I put essential oils into it. First off our face cream is made with 40% Shea Butter which is hard to find on the market and is one of the reasons I absolutely LOVE this cream. Let look at why Shea Butter is so great!
What is Shea Butter?
Shea Butter is a skin superfood that comes from the seeds of the fruit of the Shea (Karite) tree and that is naturally rich in vitamins A, E and F. It offers UV protection (it is SPF ~6) and provides the skin with essential fatty acids and the nutrients necessary for collagen production. Shea butter has been used in Africa and other countries for years to improve skin and hair.
Shea Butter Benefits
- Moisturizing: The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in Shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing for skin. …
- Reduces Inflammation: A 2010 study found that due to its cinnamic acid and other natural properties, shea butter was anti-inflammatory.
The fact that our cream is 40% Shea Butter that alone makes it an amazing face cream, but wait, we can enhance it even more! I suffer from eczema and roaschia so the additional of essential oils enhances the overall benefits of the cream. I add a few drops of doTERRA lavender and frankincense into my jar. Since I started using this I no longer use prescription medicine or creams to treat both my skin conditions and if I do say so myself my skin looks amazing! Here’s some benefits of each of the oils.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender is unmistakable in aroma and has a myriad of benefits. When you apply it topically, Lavender reduces the appearance of skin imperfections. Perfect for any blemishes, skin darkening issues and more. It helps to even out your overall appearance.
Frankincense Essential Oil
Often called the “king of oils,” Frankincense promotes feelings of peace and overall wellness when used aromatically, while topical and internal uses provide modern health benefits. It’s soothing with beautifying properties that rejuvenate skin and help reduce the appearance of imperfections when applied topically.
